Michael and Conner at Fountain City Coffee
This is some improv Conner and I did last week. There's an abridged cover of "Modern TV" by Cleaners From Venus. A great band my friend Chris K showed me. Thanks to those who came out. We'll be playing a lot at Fountain City this summer on most Thursdays.
Filmed by the lovely Autumn James.

We have plenty of originals and covers (Pixies, The Rentals, Mclusky) ready to play and maybe a Triads cover...0_0 "iHiatus" anyone?
Below is a new song from their upcoming EP. Give it a listen, you'll probably want to hear it again. We'll be playing it too. :D

Local Musicians: Mind Powers

Mind Powers is a trio made a up of Johnathan Sawyer (aka Gadget), Brad Gilbert, and our longtime friend Spenser Payne.
They just released their first EP, Ampeaters: Vol. 1 of 1, consisting of six songs. hard hitting drums, daisy-chained fuzz boxes, and one of a kind screams. The lyrical content stretches from wanting to be the 'very best' Pokemon trainer in "Skullkraken" to harsher songs like "Fuck Circle," which describes an outsider's perspective on the grim reality of sharing sex partners. This is some pretty hardcore stuff. There isn't a dull moment. give it a listen. you can listen and download to the whole Ampeaters EP below.

More Songs from Zack Papageorge

long overdue, but here are two beautiful beautiful songs written by our good friend Zack Papageorge. Here, we hear electric guitars, double tracked vocal harmonies, and a dryer used for percussion. And Zack never fails to impress us. The imagery in the lyrics is just astonishing. You can listen and download these tracks below. :)

SsS8

summer side show is june 5th. pre-sale tickets are $25 and $30 at the door. we have to sell 10 tickets in order to play and haven't sold one. so here's my attempt. The Ropes are playing. :D and other awesome bands like eva collider, man made sea, the ghost of birds, oodles of noodles, misfortune 500 and mind powers. i personally would pay $25 just to see the ropes. for each person that says our name at the door we get $2. that's the most we've ever been paid. we'll have merch. maybe some surprises. if we make enough money, we can pay back our fans.
here's a picture of us and the ropes. check out those triads shirts. mmm MMM!

Local? Musicians: Troll Town

Troll Town is the musical project by Jonathan Wolfe of Savannah, Georgia. I discovered his music through a great chain of friends. a few of my good friends that live in savannah are really good friends with Wolfe. so there's the connection.
language is a barrier. especially when i attempt to describe Troll Town. it's God's gift to earth. it's very well produced electronic music. he steers away from the ostinato approach to digitally made music. instead the structures of his songs are constantly shifting and stay interesting. his deep pitched vocals stay buried in reverb, which adds a contrasting element to the instruments. his voice acts as an instrument where the lyrics remain a mystery to the listener. i honestly can't stop listening to this stuff. i urge you to visit his myspace to give it a listen at www.myspace.com/tttrolltownnn
